Biblical Peace | Billy Graham Classic Sermon

Biblical Peace | Billy Graham

In every generation, people search for peace. We hope to find it in success, security, relationships, or the circumstances around us. Yet the more the world changes, the more we discover that lasting peace cannot be built on temporary foundations.

In this classic message, originally preached in 1975 from Lubbock, Texas, Billy Graham reminds us that God is the only source of true peace. More than simply the absence of conflict, biblical peace begins with a restored relationship with our Creator through Jesus Christ.

Jesus gave this wonderful promise:

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
John 14:27

The Apostle Paul also declared:

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Romans 5:1

This is the peace Billy Graham preached about. It is not dependent on politics, the economy, our health, or the events unfolding around us. It is a peace that comes from knowing that our sins have been forgiven, our future is secure, and our lives rest safely in the hands of God.

At In God’s Armor™, this message beautifully complements our mission of preparing believers to stand firm in every season. The Armor of God is not merely defensive equipment for difficult days. It is the daily life of a disciple who walks with Christ in confidence and peace.

Paul reminds us to have our:

“…feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.”
Ephesians 6:15

Peace is not passive. It gives us the stability to stand when the world shakes around us. It allows us to respond with faith instead of fear, hope instead of anxiety, and love instead of anger.

As we prepare for the return of Jesus Christ, we are not called to live in worry. We are called to live in peace, trusting that God remains sovereign over history and faithful to every promise He has made.

This message, preached more than fifty years ago, is just as relevant today as it was in 1975. The world has changed, but God’s invitation has not.

Come to Christ.

Receive His forgiveness.

Walk in His peace.

And stand firmly, clothed in the whole Armor of God, until the day our Savior returns.
