Trust in God, Then Go and Do

Faith in Jesus Christ is more than a feeling - it is a way of living. True faith moves us to action. It inspires us to trust God, even when we cannot see the entire path ahead, and to step forward with confidence, knowing that He will guide our way.

In this inspiring message, President Henry B. Eyring teaches that trust in God grows as we listen to His voice, seek His guidance, and then faithfully act upon the promptings we receive. The Lord rarely reveals every detail of His plan at once. Instead, He invites us to take the next faithful step, trusting that He will provide the light we need along the journey.

Throughout the scriptures, God has called ordinary men and women to accomplish extraordinary things. They did not succeed because they relied upon their own strength - they succeeded because they trusted the Lord and obeyed His direction. The same invitation extends to each of us today.

As we pray sincerely, study the scriptures, and seek the companionship of the Holy Ghost, we become better prepared to recognize God’s guidance. Once that guidance comes, our responsibility is simple: go and do. Even small acts of faithful obedience invite heaven’s blessings and strengthen our confidence that God is leading our lives.

There will be moments when uncertainty, fear, or doubt tempt us to hesitate. Yet faith grows every time we choose obedience over fear. As we move forward, the Lord opens doors we could not have opened ourselves, provides strength beyond our own, and accomplishes His work through willing disciples.

Each day offers opportunities to demonstrate our trust in God.

Ask yourself:

  • Am I seeking the Lord’s direction through sincere prayer?
  • Do I recognize promptings from the Holy Ghost?
  • Am I willing to act, even when I don’t have every answer?
  • Is my faith leading me to serve, love, and bless others?

When we place our confidence in Jesus Christ and faithfully follow His invitations, we discover that He has been preparing the way all along. Trust leads to obedience, obedience strengthens faith, and faith draws us ever closer to the Savior.

Key Scripture: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5–6

Key Takeaway: Trust in God is demonstrated through faithful action. As we listen for His guidance and courageously “go and do,” the Lord magnifies our efforts, strengthens our faith, and leads us safely along the covenant path.
