I was raised Catholic but drifted away in my twenties, sure I could handle life on my own. When my mother passed, the grief brought me to my knees in a way nothing else ever had. One evening I walked into an empty chapel and just started talking to God, honestly, for the first time in years. I felt a warmth settle over me, and I knew I was not alone. A small women's group took me in, prayed with me, and walked beside me through the hardest months of my life. Today I have a peace I cannot explain and a Savior I will never leave again. He was waiting for me the whole time.
