For most of my life I called myself a skeptic. I trusted what I could measure, and faith struck me as wishful thinking. A coworker invited me to church for years, and I always said no, until a health scare left me lying awake at 3 a.m. asking questions I could not answer with science. I finally went, expecting to feel nothing. Instead I felt seen. I started reading the Gospels just to argue with them, and somewhere along the way Jesus stopped being an idea and became real to me. I still love good questions. I just no longer believe they lead away from God. They led me straight to Him.
